The Creation

At first the earth was dark and empty. God's spirit moved over the water.

And then God said, "Let there be light", and there was light for the day. He called the darkness night. And that was the first day.

On the 2nd day God separated the waters below from the waters above and He called the space in between, heaven.
On the third day God created the dry land and the seas. He said, "Let the land have plants and fruit trees", and it was so. And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, "Let there be lights in the heavens to separate day and night and the seasons and so God created the sun, the moon and the stars. And God saw that it was good. That was the 4th day.

On the 5th day God filled the seas and the skies with living creatures. He saw that it was good.

Then God created living creatures of all kinds on the land; cattle and creeping things and wild animals. And it was good.

And then God said, "Let us make man in Our image, and he will rule over all living creatures." And so God created Man and Woman. God blessed them and told them to care for the living creatures. He told them He had given all of them the food they needed to live. He saw all that He had made and it was very good. That was the 6th day.

On the 7th day God rested. He blessed the 7th day and made it holy because it was the day that God rested from all His work which He had created.
